Leaving with nothing more than the clothes on their backs, millions of Colombians have been forced to form informal communities in the mountains around the city of Medellin. I visited one community, Maniantales de Paz, and met with several families. They spoke of their daily tragedies, a home washed away overnight, a son kept from attending school because his mother cannot afford his medicine. Violence has declined in Medellin, but for the internally displaced people of Colombia, the suffering continues.
